First, let me say everything you are about to read is fictional, mostly. Some of it happened and got stuck in my cartoon world. I laugh at everything I see and tend to imagine “what if.”
Second, it is meant to entertain. If you are offended, please move on.
The idea behind all of these essays came to me when I was writing some more serious articles. I was stuck in that traffic jam on Writer’s Block and couldn’t move. One way to break the curse is to try to write about something else. So I went looking for a new outlet and discovered a couple of sites that provided not only source but scrutiny. I indulged a few articles’ worth of writing and started laughing about all the things I would be writing if I didn’t care what people thought. So, that’s what I wrote.
Next thing you know, I couldn’t stop. Being serious all the time at work or with friends left me no outlet to be a 30 something version of Calvin (of Calvin and Hobbes for those who like reading with pictures). I found and continue to find inspiration in looking at what others are reading and saying to myself “These people need to lighten up.” I find my material in the news and other written mediums and ask myself “Self, how would I draw the same conclusions if I hadn’t read that story?”
The names are real. Some of the mannerisms are, too, though I may have embelished or written with a certain amount of euphamism. My biggest self criticism is that I may not be as self-depricating as I would like. I’ll work on that.
